O Allah, forgive me my shirk, my disbelief, and my shortcomings, and forgive the believing men and women," and that whoever says them will be showered with mercy like rain?

Seeing the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in a dream is a true vision for whoever sees him in his true form, and Satan cannot impersonate him. However, dreams are not a source for receiving legal rulings. Thus, nothing that has not been established in the Sunnah can be confirmed by them, and this is by scholarly consensus. The supplication mentioned is not validated based on the dream, but its meaning is correct, and it is permissible to supplicate with it because it includes praising Allah, seeking forgiveness, and supplicating for the believers. However, if one sees the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanding a recommended act or prohibiting a forbidden act, it is meritorious to act accordingly because the basis of that matter is already established.
