Is dedicating the reward of reciting the Qur'an to the deceased on the third day considered a forbidden innovation, and is it permissible to replace it with festivals of speech and praise?

The aforementioned gathering and the donation of the reward for reciting the Quran to the deceased were not from the guidance of the Salaf. Had it been good, they would have preceded us to it. As for reciting the Quran and donating its reward to the deceased, it is permissible in general. However, what the imams of the mosques have innovated is likewise impermissible. What is prescribed to be done for the deceased after their death is to supplicate for them, give charity on their behalf, and perform Hajj and Umrah (definition) on their behalf.
