What is the ruling on one who applied the means mentioned in your fatwas to achieve remorse for a sin, but it did not benefit him, and are there other means to achieve remorse for a sin than those mentioned in your fatwas?

Attaining remorse for a sin is achieved by contemplating the Lord's power, the swiftness of His retribution, and the severity of His punishment in this world and the hereafter, believing in that, and bringing to mind the ugliness of the sin, and that it incurs Allah's wrath.
