1. Knowledge (al-ʿIlm): Comprehending a thing as it truly is, with firm certainty, admitting no possibility of doubt.

2. Simple Ignorance (al-Jahl al-Basīṭ): The complete lack of comprehension of a thing.

3. Compound Ignorance (al-Jahl al-Murakkab): Comprehending a thing in a way that contradicts its reality, while believing that this comprehension is correct.

4. Delusion (al-Wahm): Comprehending a thing, while there exists a weak possibility for its opposite.

5. Doubt (ash-Shakk): Comprehending a thing, while the possibilities of its existence and non-existence are equal.

6. Conjecture (aẓ-Ẓann): Comprehending a thing, while one of the possibilities outweighs the other.
