What is the ruling on worshippers not adhering to the imam's instructions, and instead issuing orders to him, such as "Come on, lead us in prayer, there's no time left," or objecting to the prolongation of prostration and bowing?

Everyone in a position of leadership must be patient and wise. There should be enough time between the Adhan and the Iqamah for purification, going to the mosque, and performing the regular Sunnah prayers. The permanent Imam has the most right to lead the prayer, and he has the authority to call the Iqamah; the Muezzin should not call it except with his permission. The Imam must also consider the circumstances of the people. The Imam must be keen on performing the prayer as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray, and the congregants must assist him and not disturb him. Speaking in the mosque is permissible as long as it does not disturb those praying, reciting the Quran, or studying.
