Is it permissible to say: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, departed from Mecca dispraised and repelled"? And what is the ruling on one who insists on saying it? And is it permissible to say, concerning the praise of the Ansar in Surat Al-Hashr: "This praise will remain as long as Allah exists"?

It is impermissible to use the phrase "madhmūman madḥūran" (blameworthy and vanquished) to describe the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because this phrase appears in the Quran to describe the inhabitants of Hellfire and Iblis (Satan). These are words of condemnation and vilification, just as the polytheists used to describe the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as "mudhammam" (one who is blamed), and blame is only directed at what is ugly. It is more appropriate to describe the Prophet's departure from Mecca as being with tranquility and divine support. As for the survival of the Quran, what is meant is not that its verses will remain on earth forever, but rather that it will be raised up at the end of time.
