What is the ruling on one who does not pray in the mosque, claiming that the worshippers in our time are hypocrites, and does not pray the Jumu'ah prayer? And what is the ruling on one who gives religious verdicts and interprets the Qur’an incorrectly, believing that everyone who reads the Qur’an is blessed by Allah with the ability to interpret?

You must be keen on guiding the man, for Allah guiding a man through you is better than red camels. Clarify to him the danger of interpreting the Quran and issuing fatwas without knowledge, for whoever speaks about the Quran without knowledge should prepare his seat in Hellfire. The Salaf (pious predecessors) were hesitant to speak about interpretation without knowledge. The danger of issuing fatwas without knowledge is evident in it being a fabrication against Allah. Allah Almighty says: (And do not say about what your tongues falsely describe, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent a lie against Allah. Indeed, those who invent a lie against Allah will not succeed A brief enjoyment, and for them is a painful punishment) [An-Nahl: 116-117].

Ibn Kathir said in his interpretation of this verse: "This includes everyone who innovates a Bid'ah (innovation) for which there is no legal basis, or permits something that Allah has forbidden, or forbids something that Allah has permitted merely based on his opinion and desire." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged guarding the tongue, saying: "Whoever guarantees for me what is between his two jaws and what is between his two legs, I guarantee him Paradise," and "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent," and "Indeed, a servant may utter a word that incurs the wrath of Allah, not giving it any importance, and he will fall into Hellfire because of it."

The hypocrisy of those who pray is not an excuse for neglecting prayer. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to come to the Sacred Mosque and pray there before the Hijra, and the presence of idols or the attendance of polytheists did not prevent him from doing so.
