What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding the infrequent visitation of relatives due to the presence of forbidden things in their homes, such as intermingling (between sexes), immodest display (of women), music, and pictures?

If visiting in-laws entails legitimate benefits, such as offering advice or reconciling hearts to guide them back to the truth, then visiting is preferable. However, if the legitimate benefit lies in not visiting them, either to avert harm to the religion or to shun them for their sins in the hope that shunning will be a deterrent, then refraining from visiting is more appropriate.
