Is it permissible for a group of students of Islamic law to set a weekly schedule for self-reckoning, where each individual presents their weekly balance to the group to motivate one another, and is this action considered showing off (riya')?

We ask Allah the Almighty to help you in seeking sacred knowledge, for it is one of the best deeds, especially in these times when those who possess knowledge are few. Self-accountability, organizing time for study, and presenting what has been accomplished to others is a good thing because it encourages vying and competing in good deeds. The purpose of this competition must be to manage time, sharpen resolve, and acquire beneficial knowledge with sincerity in working for the sake of Allah the Almighty. We advise you to act upon knowledge, for it is the best aid in acquiring and solidifying it, and to turn to Allah with sincerity and devotion, and to avoid violations of Islamic law, for knowledge is a light that Allah casts into the heart, and sins veil this light.
