What is the ruling on shunning parents who describe their son as a liar and invalidate his prayers, while the son fears death as one who has abandoned prayer?

Consuming narcotic pills is forbidden (haram). It is not permissible to abandon prayer under any circumstances, and there is no obedience to a creature if it involves disobedience to the Creator. It is obligatory not to be undutiful to one's parents or abandon them. A Muslim must be diligent in prayer and perform it in congregation.
