Would a good relationship with one's stepmother upset the deceased mother and be considered ungrateful?

We ask Allah to reward you for your kindness to your mother and your stepmother. There is no harm in your good treatment of your stepmother, and there is no denial of your mother's kindness in that, for the deceased is occupied with her deeds. Continue to supplicate for your mother and give charity on her behalf. And avoid saying "her final resting place," as it may carry a false meaning.
