It is best for the brother to forgive his wife's mother and pardon her, for there is great reward in forgiveness and it is closer to piety, and Allah will increase him in honor and elevation. His forgiveness of her is further emphasized because she is elderly, and because it entails kindness to his wife and living with her in a good manner.
