Does the principle "A Muslim loves for his brother what he loves for himself" apply to non-Muslims?

A Muslim is required to love for his brother what he loves for himself, and this includes both Muslims and disbelievers. As the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." This means loving for the disbeliever to embrace Islam, loving for the Muslim to remain steadfast, and finding it desirable to pray for guidance. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray for the disbelievers of Quraish, saying: "O Allah, guide my people, for they do not know." One must love good for all people, as long as it does not cause harm to Muslims.
