Is it permissible for a brother in Islam to be dearer to a Muslim than some of his own relatives?

Brotherhood for the sake of Allah is a great blessing, fundamentally based on loving individuals for their religiosity and uprightness. This is the balance of love and hate for a believer: one loves for Allah and in Allah, and hates for Allah and in Allah. This includes relatives and others; whoever is steadfast in obeying Allah, we love them according to their steadfastness, and whoever disobeys Allah, we hate them according to their disobedience. A believer might love their brother in Islam, who is not a relative, more intensely than their own relative, due to their differing levels of faith and obedience. This love is the reason for the beloved ones for the sake of Allah to be shaded on the Day of Resurrection, and for Allah's love for them. It is crucial to differentiate between love for the sake of Allah and an impermissible attachment to a person.
