What is the solution for a young man who is infatuated with a girl who has been exchanging glances with him for a year but refuses to speak to him, and he feels debased and humiliated every time he sees her, yet he still thinks of her?
Suspicious glances exchanged between a man and a woman are forbidden in Islamic law, as they are a path to indecency. Allah Almighty commanded lowering the gaze, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified that the "adultery of the eyes is looking." Every forbidden glance leaves a black stain on the heart. Therefore, all contact with this female student must be severed, the gaze lowered, and sincere repentance initiated. Possible solutions include transferring to another school, avoiding this girl, and occupying oneself by accompanying righteous people, attending gatherings of knowledge and remembrance, and reciting the Quran.
