The answer

We have previously clarified the different scholarly opinions regarding calling the adhan in the newborn's ear, and that this practice is common in many Muslim countries. It is not possible to definitively affirm or deny whether this sunnah is currently practiced and applied in the Maghreb countries. However, they did practice it in past eras, as mentioned by Al-Hattab in Mawahib al-Jalil. He favored this opinion, stating: "The practice of people has been according to this, so there is no harm in acting upon it." Therefore, it is not unlikely that their practice remains the same.
