Is it permissible for a woman to use lies and deceit, such as claiming to be afflicted with a serious illness like AIDS, to frighten her husband if she suspects his behavior or doubts he has a relationship with another woman?

A wife is not advised to lie to her husband by telling him that another woman, whom she suspects he has a relationship with, is ill. This is because it is a lie and forbidden, and it could spoil the relationship between the spouses and destroy the reputation of an innocent woman.

Similarly, a wife is not advised to lie to her husband by telling him that she herself is ill, as this also involves lying.

Instead, the wife should advise her husband, remind him of Allah, fulfill all his rights, and try to reform him and guide him back to the path of Allah Almighty.
