It is not permissible to dispose of the property of a person under interdiction except with caution and by spending in a reasonable manner. If someone volunteers to take care of the father's needs without compensation, then it is not permissible to hire someone from his money. If no volunteer is found, then one should spend in a reasonable manner. The mother's needs that fall under the father's obligatory maintenance share the same ruling. What does not fall under reasonable maintenance should not be hired for from the father's money. If the guardian is poor, it is permissible for him to use the car for his needs to the extent of his necessity; otherwise, he should not approach it except in a customary manner, such as renting it out. Zakat must be paid from the property of a child and an insane person, according to the majority of scholars.
