What should a man do who suspects his wife, who is asking for a divorce, and they have three children, and he has no proof of his suspicions, and he loves her?

A husband's suspicion of his wife without a genuine reason is forbidden, as it falls under ill-suspicion (su' adh-dhann), which is prohibited by Islamic law. Praiseworthy jealousy (gheerah) applies in situations of clear doubt and suspicion. However, jealousy without any cause for suspicion is blameworthy. The husband must fear Allah and repent from this ill-suspicion, as it opens a door for Satan to ruin the marital relationship. As for the wife's request for divorce, it is generally discouraged except in cases of necessity. However, if the wife is harmed by the husband's repeated baseless suspicions, this constitutes a valid reason for seeking divorce. Nevertheless, both spouses are advised to be patient and avoid behaviors that lead to the ruin of homes.
