What is the meaning of seminal emission (manī), and is it its uncontrolled forceful exit?

The meaning of "flowing semen" (تدفق المني) is its expulsion with force and gushing during arousal, and it differs from the emission of pre-seminal fluid (madhy). Al-Shawkani mentioned that "gushing water" (الماء الدافق) refers to semen poured into the womb. Al-Nawawi described semen as thick and white, exiting in successive gushes with desire and pleasure, followed by relaxation. Its smell is like that of a date palm spathe, and when dry, it smells like eggs. Some of these characteristics might be absent due to illness or other reasons, yet it still necessitates ghusl (definition).
