The answer

There is no objection to a Muslim traveling to any country where he feels secure for himself, his property, and his family, and where he can observe the rituals of his religion. However, he should be careful to stay in good places and avoid countries where sins are prevalent, out of fear that the inhabitants might be afflicted with punishment and he be among them. Allah Almighty says: "And thus is the grasp of your Lord when He grasps the towns while they are doing wrong. Indeed, His grasp is painful and severe." We do not say that it is forbidden to travel to a country where alcohol and nightclubs are permitted, if one does not fear temptation concerning his religion. However, it is advisable to remain in one's place, for nothing equals safety in religion, and a believer flees from places of temptation.
