What is the ruling on remembering Allah in an unclean place or in a room where the sin of fornication was previously committed?

It is out of reverence for the remembrance of Allah that it should take place in a clean location. Some scholars have disliked the remembrance of Allah or the recitation of the Qur’an in filthy places. As for the remembrance of Allah in a room where someone previously committed adultery, the default ruling is that it is permissible, and we do not know of any evidence to prohibit it. Some scholars have disliked the remembrance of Allah in places prepared for sins, such as a tavern, but this does not apply to the current situation.
