What is the ruling on a wife who goes to wedding parties wearing an abaya or an overcoat, and underneath it is a transparent dress, and she removes the abaya upon entering the hall, knowing that there is photography in the halls and there may be men present? And what is the ruling on a wife who does not heed her husband's advice to be modest?

Allah has commanded women to wear the hijab as a means of protecting them and safeguarding the hearts of men. Therefore, a woman must fear Allah and adhere to the hijab, being cautious not to be among those described by the Prophet (peace be upon him) as: "Women who are dressed yet naked, inclining [to evil] and causing [others] to incline. Their heads are like the humps of leaning camels. They will not enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance." A woman who does this exposes herself to Allah's wrath and is considered rebellious (nashiz), thus not deserving of maintenance. However, if a woman knows that the wedding venue is safe from photography and men, and her husband gives her permission, there is no harm in her appearing before other women, covering what is between her navel and her knees.
