Children have a right over their parents to care, sustenance, and guidance. The actions of the aforementioned father are contrary to the teachings of Islam, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "All of you are shepherds and all of you are responsible for your flock. A man is a shepherd in his house and responsible for his flock." And he said: "It is enough sin for a man to neglect those whom he supports." It is advised to contact him and remind him of Allah and strive to be dutiful to him.
