What is the Islamic ruling concerning a person who has abandoned his daughter from her divorced mother for more than eight years, never seen her, and failed to provide financial support for either the mother or the daughter, and what is the ruling on one who does this, and what is advised to be done?

Children have a right over their parents to care, sustenance, and guidance. The actions of the aforementioned father are contrary to the teachings of Islam, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "All of you are shepherds and all of you are responsible for your flock. A man is a shepherd in his house and responsible for his flock." And he said: "It is enough sin for a man to neglect those whom he supports." It is advised to contact him and remind him of Allah and strive to be dutiful to him.
