Divorce should only occur after all means of reconciliation have been exhausted. If the spouses can live together amicably, that is preferable. Disputes between the maternal uncle and the mother should not be a reason for severing kinship ties, as that is among the major sins. It is advisable for wise individuals to intervene and reconcile between them, explaining the obligation of maintaining kinship ties and the virtue of forgiveness. It is permissible to convey un واقع (untrue) words that foster affection, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "He is not a liar who reconciles between people, says good things, and conveys good."
