What is the ruling on money, experience, and other benefits gained from a job obtained through favoritism (wāsiṭah), and does the principle "what is built upon falsehood is falsehood" apply in this case?

Intercession is a form of mediation that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged, so long as it is not for a prohibited matter such as forgery or injustice. Mediation is permissible if the person for whom intercession is made is qualified and capable of performing the work perfectly. There is no harm in accepting payment if the work is completed as it should be, even if the means of obtaining it were illegitimate. However, if someone obtains work through mediation and is not proficient in performing it, they do not deserve the payment, and both they and the one who interceded for them are sinful. If they gain practical experience and master the work, then there is no harm in their payment. The shareholders' satisfaction in companies is not taken into consideration, as they authorize the management to select employees, and the management is responsible for selection. Not everyone for whom intercession is made is unskilled; they may be more competent than others. It is not a condition to know that there is no one more competent, as that is difficult to ascertain.
