Money earned from unlawful work, such as designing unlawful advertisements, is not owned by its earner. It must be disposed of by spending it on general Muslim welfare projects, by donating an amount equal to the unlawful earnings, not the specific money itself. Any profit resulting from investing this money in a permissible investment is lawful for the earner, because the unlawfulness of this type of money relates to the earner's responsibility, not to the money itself.
