Is the noble verse "Indeed, adversity has afflicted me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful" sufficient as a supplication for healing from any illness? Is it permissible to specify it with the intention of healing from obesity? And must the intention be renewed with each recitation of the verse?

The verse states: ﴿And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful."﴾ Invoking Allah with this supplication is permissible, and it is hoped that Allah will benefit whoever recites it for any illness, especially if one seeks times when prayers are answered, such as between the Adhan and the Iqamah. It is not a condition that this be for incurable diseases, nor is it required to renew the intention when repeating the supplication. For Allah is Generous and Capable of curing all illnesses, and He has promised to respond to whoever supplicates to Him.
