What is the definition of a khuff according to some Hanbali shaykhs, and does it include a regular sock (of little thickness)?

The khuff is not like the jawrab (sock). The jawrab is a covering made of wool, while the khuff is made of leather. If the jawrab is thin and describes the skin, then it is not permissible to wipe over it according to the Hanbalis, without any dispute. However, if it does not describe the skin, then it has two cases: If it is possible to walk in it without it folding, then it is permissible to wipe over it. If it is not possible to walk in it because it folds, then it is not permissible to wipe over it.
