Are newspapers, magazines, the internet, and computers considered means of seeking knowledge?

The fundamental principle in seeking knowledge is to receive it from reliable scholars, in order to benefit from their knowledge, etiquette, and good conduct. However, there is no harm in benefiting from useful and trustworthy knowledge disseminated by reputable publishing sources such as newspapers, magazines, the internet, and computer programs. Nevertheless, a طالب علم (seeker of knowledge) should not rely solely on these without referring back to scholars and شیخs (religious elders/teachers).
