ما تعريف المندوب لغة؟

Linguistically, "al-mandūb" (المندوب) means "the one called to," and it is the passive participle of "nadabahu ilā kadhā" (ندبه إلى كذا), meaning "he called him to such and such." Arabs use it especially when calling to an important matter. Ibn an-Najjār said: "Linguistically, 'al-mandūb' is the one called to an important matter, and from it is the Hadith: 'Allah intadaba (undertook/pledged) for whoever goes forth in His cause,' meaning He answered his request for forgiveness of his sins." The noun is "an-nudbah" (الندبة), and when a woman laments the dead, she is a "nādibah" (نادبة), because she enumerates his virtues as if he hears her.
