Is a husband’s retaining his wife in wedlock until she agrees to his conditions for seeing their children considered an injustice to her, for which he would be punished? And what is the solution to this problem without injustice to either party?

Polygyny is among the practices of the prophets if the husband is capable. It is not permissible for a wife to ask her husband to divorce her co-wife, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "No woman should ask for the divorce of her sister to upset what is in her bowl or plate, for her provision is from Allah Almighty." Whoever does so must repent to Allah.

Custody is the right of the mother as long as she does not remarry, based on his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "You have more right to him as long as you do not marry." The mother is not allowed to prevent the children from seeing their father, nor to monopolize their upbringing. If the mother is harmed, she has the right to relinquish custody in exchange for divorce; otherwise, her request for divorce without harm is an injustice. The solution in such cases is to refer to the Sharia courts.
