Is the virtue of angels attending gatherings of knowledge and remembrance of Allah, for a student of knowledge, limited to religious sciences? And does one who follows a lesson individually via television or the internet attain this virtue?

What is primarily meant by the virtues of seeking knowledge is Islamic religious knowledge. The presence of angels and the encompassing of mercy are not achieved by sitting in front of the television or listening to religious lectures; because this is not a gathering in the sense mentioned in the Hadith. Listening to lectures via television or radio contains goodness and blessings, as does seeking worldly knowledge for one whose intention is good.
