What is the ruling on passing wind during prayer due to its involuntary escape and inability to control it? Does this invalidate the prayer? Is it permissible to sit during prayer to avoid this matter?

Previously, the ruling on the prayer of one who frequently experiences the emission of wind (flatulence) was mentioned. If sitting during prayer prevents the emission of wind, then one should pray sitting, according to the preponderant opinion of the Malikis and some Hanbalis. This is because preserving the purity from ritual impurity (which is a condition for prayer) takes precedence over preserving the standing posture (which is a pillar). So, if he prays standing, wind will be emitted, but if he sits, it will not. Thus, he should sit. Al-Mardawi mentioned in "Al-Insaf" two opinions regarding someone whose wind is retained while sitting but emitted during prostration: one opinion states the obligation to prostrate on the ground, prioritizing the pillar (ruk'n), while the other allows for gesturing (ima') based on the analogy of a naked person.
