How were Hajj and prayer performed in the time of the prophets of the Children of Israel before they were ordained upon the Ummah of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him?

The verse indicates that Moses (peace be upon him) would work for the Sheikh of Midian for eight years, herding sheep. Here, "حِجج" (hijaj) means years, not the pilgrimage (Hajj) to the Sacred House of Allah. All prophets, including Moses, performed Hajj and prayed.
