The hijab is obligatory for women. Any study or work that compels a woman to remove her hijab must be abandoned by her, and she must seek another job that allows her to wear it. If she cannot find one and is compelled to take such a job, it is permissible for her to do so only to the extent of necessity. She must emigrate if she is unable to practice the rituals of her religion. It is not permissible to remain in a disbelieving country for the purpose of obtaining its citizenship if it imposes rulings that contradict Islam. A husband is responsible for his wife on the Day of Judgment, and he must strive to extricate her from her situation, provide for her, and seek a permissible job or study for her.
