A Muslim should not put himself in a position of doubt by asking people for their money for his personal interests. Hanbali jurists have forbidden an agent from taking from what he was entrusted to pay, and they considered refraining from it to be better and more absolving of responsibility. This is to block the means to unlawfully consuming people's wealth, especially with the prevalence of deception in this era.
