What should I do if I suspect the emission of prostatic fluid (madhiy) before or during prayer?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If a person in a state of ritual purity (taharah) doubts whether their purity has been invalidated, the original state is the persistence of purity, and one does not transition from it except with certainty, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He should not leave (his prayer) until he hears a sound or perceives a smell." Thus, an incidental doubt does not harm, and whoever is certain of purity and doubts about its invalidation (hadath) is judged to remain in a state of purity. Therefore, one should not pay attention to doubt regarding the emission of madhy (pre-seminal fluid). However, if its emission is certain, then one must wash what it has touched on the body and clothing and perform ablution (wudu'), and the prayer becomes invalid if it is emitted during it.
