What is the ruling on using musical instruments for dawah (proselytizing) in the West, and can an example be given for the rule "necessities permit the forbidden" in the field of dawah?

Allah Almighty commanded calling to Him, and made it the best of speech. However, calling to Him must only be through what He, Glorified be He, has legislated. For the means have the rulings of the ends, and Islam does not accept reaching good ends through evil means. Thus, it is not permissible to accumulate unlawful wealth to spend on good deeds, nor is it permissible to call to the religion of Allah through means that Allah has forbidden, such as musical instruments, even in Western countries. Music has never been a means of da'wah (calling to Islam) except in the religion of Christians and those who imitate them.

Allah has not burdened the believers with more than guiding people to what benefits them by enjoining good and forbidding evil. This does not require the caller to violate what is forbidden, for the caller is a conveyor from the Lord of the worlds. The caller must call with wisdom and good admonition, and not appease people by abandoning some of Allah's laws in pursuit of their satisfaction, for the rule of necessities does not permit the forbidden in the realm of calling people to righteousness.
