The answer

It is not appropriate to mention Allah or recite the Quran while relieving oneself, out of reverence for the word and remembrance of Allah, as Allah the Almighty says: "That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts." (22:32). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, refrained from returning a greeting while urinating, saying: "I disliked mentioning Allah the Almighty except in a state of purity." Reciting the Quran and mentioning Allah are prohibited in this state, as it contradicts the glorification of Allah and His word. If one recites without awareness, there is no sin upon them, but one should train oneself to remain silent in this situation. Something can be placed in the mouth to occupy it from remembrance.
