Does the use of medicines conflict with reliance on God in Islam?

Medical treatment is permissible and does not contradict reliance on God (Tawakkul). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah created both the ailment and its cure, so seek medical treatment, but do not seek treatment with forbidden things." He also said: "Seek medical treatment, for Allah has not sent down any disease but that He has also sent down a cure for it, except for one disease." It was asked, "What is it?" He replied, "Old age." Medical treatment does not contradict reliance on God; rather, it is part of actualizing Tawhid by engaging with means.
