What is the ruling on the marriage of a woman suffering from schizophrenia to a man who is an alcoholic, does not fast, and does not pray, after her divorce from her first husband who used to curse the Divine Being, knowing that the first divorce was legally but not Shariah-wise approved, and the second marriage is civil and not Shariah-wise registered?

It is necessary to refer to the Sharia (definition) court or its equivalent, or to directly ask scholars if there is no court, because marriage is a great covenant, which Allah called a "firm covenant" (Mithaqan Ghalizan), and not a matter to be trifled with. Piety and character must be considered when choosing a spouse. Among the most important conditions for the validity of the contract are the presence of a guardian (wali) and witnesses. The ignorant person must inquire about the Sharia ruling before undertaking any action.
