What is the legal ruling regarding two deposits placed in the names of the deceased's children, with the condition that their interest be paid to his wife monthly?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
If what the employer paid was due to the deceased, then it is an inheritance to be distributed among the legal heirs (the wife gets one-eighth, and the remainder is for the two sons equally, and the share of the minors is placed under the guardianship of the guardian until they reach maturity). If it was a donation, then the employer has more right to dispose of it according to his condition. As for interest, if it is from a permissible investment, it is (lawful); but if it is (unlawful), it is not permissible to benefit from it except for the poor.
