What is the meaning of "O Allah, we ask You for the joy of gazing upon Your Noble Countenance, without harmful adversity or misleading temptation"?

The meaning of the Hadith: "And I ask You for the delight of gazing upon Your Face" is to achieve the eternal self-manifestation. The gaze is qualified with "delight" because it could be a gaze of awe and majesty or one of gentleness and beauty. "The yearning to meet You" combines the best of this world and the Hereafter. "Without harmful adversity" means a yearning that does not negatively impact or cause deprivation after the manifestation.
