The answer

Working to enter Paradise and draw near to the Friends of Allah is not (polytheism). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge with Him from Hellfire, and he affirmed those who did so. Therefore, working to enter Paradise and draw near to the righteous does not contradict the Oneness of Allah or the sincerity of worship to Him. It is advised to be sincere in worshiping Allah, strive to memorize the Quran, and supplicate to Allah to grant you entry into Paradise with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.
