Is it permissible for my 70-year-old mother to read the Qur’an daily, even though she is not proficient in correct recitation, or is it better for her to only listen to it?
It is obligatory to pay close attention to the recitation of the Qur’an. If a woman alters the words and meanings in her recitation, it is not permissible for her to recite in this manner. It is sufficient for her to repeat what she recites well, or to listen to the recitation, and Allah will reward her for the recitation.
