Is listening to the Qur’an daily sufficient occasionally over reciting it, and does listening achieve the true path of Islam, and what should I do with my disobedient sister who does not listen to advice?

Listening to the Book of Allah and pondering its meanings contains great good, for Allah Almighty says: ﴿And when the Qur’an is recited, listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy.﴾ (Al-A'raf: 204), and for the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever listens to a verse from the Book of Allah Almighty will have a multiplied good deed, and whoever recites it will have light on the Day of Resurrection."

However, recitation for one who is able is better than listening, combining both hearing and reading. The reward for reading is mentioned in the famous Hadith of Ibn Mas'ud: "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will have a good deed, and a good deed is ten times its like. I do not say 'Alif, Lam, Meem' is one letter, but 'Alif' is a letter, 'Lam' is a letter, and 'Meem' is a letter."

A Muslim should commit to reading the Book of Allah and not abandon it.

As for the sister, you must advise her and guide her to the truth, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Religion is sincere advice." Be gentle and lenient in your advice, and follow effective methods of da'wah. Be keen on using tapes and publications that address these sins.
