Does one receive the same reward for listening to the Qur'an as for reciting it, and is it considered abandonment to forgo recitation and suffice with listening?

Frequent listening to the recitation of the Qur’an contains great good, and it is a sign of Allah Almighty’s mercy, for He says: "And when the Qur’an is recited, listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy." However, merely listening does not suffice for direct recitation, and abandoning the Qur’an occurs by not reciting it and not acting upon its rulings. Therefore, it is recommended not to limit oneself to listening, but to establish a daily portion for recitation.
