What is the advice that should be given to a son who has cut ties with his mother for five years due to a dispute, and he believes he is in the right?

Allah has magnified the right of parents, making it second only to His own right, as stated in the Qur'an: "And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and that you be dutiful to your parents." The mother has the greater share of righteousness, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father." A Muslim must hasten to maintain ties with his mother, show her righteousness, and treat her kindly, for severing ties and abandonment are among the most heinous forms of disobedience and among the greatest sins.
