What is the ruling on dealing with bribery, and is it permissible to boycott brothers who deal with it?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Bribery is forbidden. If a person has friends or neighbors who engage in it, it is better not to boycott them, but rather to advise them and explain the religious ruling to them. However, if distancing oneself from them leads them to abandon the evil deed, then it becomes obligatory to distance oneself from them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart—and that is the weakest of faith."
